(Ghulam
Ahmed) Sabir Khan learned both with his grandfather and
father, and emerged early as a prodigious talent with clear,
fast and furious hands. Even though both his teachers died when
he was still a teenager, Sabir had already absorbed a wealth
of knowledge from them. He was also very helpful to me when I
was doing my research, and one day I hope to publish parts of
my 1981 interviews with him in some form. This clip is from a
live performance in Calcutta on March 4, 1982. Here he plays
two substantial tukras followed by a farmaishi chakradar.
