Swapan
Chaudhuri is one of the most complete players in India
today, and a virtuoso of the highest calibre. He learned from
Santosh Krishna Biswas who in turn learned from Hirendra Kumar
Ganguly, who learned from Abid Hussain of Lucknow. This clip
in tintal comes from a duet played with Zakir Hussain
in Amravati, Maharashtra, in 1985. He embarks on
a long and sparkling dhirakit rela followed by a bedam
chakradar.
